如果说电影在视觉观感上是满分的话，那么其在故事的创新上却并只能算差强人意，这次的真人改编从剧情的走向上同《灰姑娘》是一样的，都是忠于了原作的衣钵，但不同的是《灰姑娘》只是让一个后母形象变的更有张力，从而使整个故事更为充沛饱满，而《美女与野兽》却引入了一个同性角色，这虽然是迪士尼电影史上第一位同性恋角色，但这一角色在电影的出现，其实并没有起到能令人耳目一新的作用，只不过是多了一个插科打诨的配角人物。
正因这种其实与电影主体本身并不相符的题材嵌入，在加上电影的故事真的让人再找不到何般新颖的亮点，所以就改编来说，新版的《美女与野兽》只是无功无过的，但好在《美女与野兽》还有着一份源于这个美好童话本身的魅力，当我们褪去电影金玉其外的华服，一份不以貌取人的爱，一颗被爱浇筑成长的心，仍旧是这部电影比金玉更为弥足珍贵的内在之美，这份真善，依旧动人。
